Re-writing the story
About Chapter 1
We know that talent can come from different places, be of a different shape, colour or thought pathology and may have taken a different journey. That journey may have been one that has previously been a little hard for some people to understand.
We dream of working with a big-hearted business that values inclusivity and is passionate about an employee-driven culture. We believe that the best approach is always led by personal professionalism to build long-term partnerships. Everything we do is powered by our outgoing and accessible nature.
Our mission is simple, we connect progressive businesses with overlooked individuals so that they can write the next chapter of their journey together. So here it is, the start of something new, Chapter 1.

Our Services
Chapter 1 Employment works with employers to source talent and be more inclusive. We provide recruitment services and disability awareness training to small, medium and large organisations. We partner with organisations that help enrich the lives of people living with disability, injury or medical conditions. Fundamentally, we provide specialist employment services that are focused around employer-engagement.
Employers
Every story has a beginning and for us, it’s the consultation with you, the inclusively-motivated employer. We start with assessing your organisational needs and how we can develop a meaningful partnership together by creating a blueprint to inclusive recruitment. This blueprint is unique to your business, based on your needs and the resources available to you.
Employment Agencies
We provide employer-engagement and reverse-marketing services targeted for your clients. We also have a vacancy broker service that sees us providing inclusive employer vacancies for your clients. Our Activate program provides a forum for your participating clients to learn through peer-support to become more ready for the open labour market, and build civic connection.
Disability Support Agencies
We are specialists in employer engagement services for people living with a disability, injury or medical conditions. We support back to work programs by providing a pathway to inclusive employers and specialist staff that know how to sell the benefits of employing someone living with disability. Our Activate program supports your clients to become more ready for the open labour-market through peer-support initiatives, online forums, webinars, podcasts and soft introductions to employers.

Our Pathways For Our Service Partners
We understand that your placement needs can differ between clients, which is why we have developed two specialised pathways for our partners in inclusivity.

Contract Marketing
A targeted program that sees our team working directly with your organisation to place your clients in to reputable employers, in a specific location (for example, a location which needs to improve performance or needs more resources).
Includes:
- Full access to our vacancies
- One month of our team dedicated to reverse marketing your career-seekers
- The full Chapter 1 recruitment experience (resume rewrites, conversations, onboarding assistance and evidence gathering).
- If your job seeker is placed with an employer we are not currently working with, we will hand that employer over to you once the placement has commenced to manage post-placement support and encourage future placements.

Vacancy Brokering
This pathway is designed to provide your organisation with inclusive vacancies with employers you aren’t working with so you can place your clients in to a long-term, successful role.
Includes:
- Full access to our vacancies
- Chapter 1 recruitment assistance and collaboration with your consultants (interview set up, onboarding help, evidence gathering and mentoring to support longevity)
The value of being inclusive
Inclusion in the workplace offers many different layers of value, not only for the job seeker and the employer but also for the wider team.
Embracing diversity offers a bigger talent pool from which to hire and, with the right workplace adjustments and support, retain staff. Employees and employers alike benefit from practices that encourage a stable, reliable and productive work environment. Inclusion as standard is one of the most rewarding pathways to achieve this.
Your customers and clients are just as diverse as your employees and all have their own stories to tell. By being an inclusive employer, you are also attracting and connecting with a larger customer base who may share a similar journey. We’re changing the story of recruitment, one placement at a time.
